KidSport is excited to launch its second annual Give the Gift of Sport campaign! The national fundraising campaign runs through the holiday season and helps raise money so all kids can have an opportunity to participate in organized sport.
1 in 3 families can’t afford to register their children in sport. KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sport. [Skills like teamwork, confidence, commitment, goal-setting, sportsmanship and organization are all essential life skills that can be learned and developed through sport and every child should have the opportunity experience them.] That’s why KidSport is committed to supporting under-resourced Canadian children and youth participate in sport.
In order to do this we need your help! There are number of ways to participate and we encourage you to get involved:
2. Fundraise on behalf of KidSport
3. Give on behalf of someone
4. Spread the word Learn more at KidSport.ca.
This season, Give the Gift of Sport So ALL Kids Can Play!

“Jim Pattison Hyundai believes that every child should get to experience the social and physical benefits that only organized sports can bring. Unfortunately, financial barriers can sometimes get in the way. This is why organizations like KidSport, a non-profit organization whose goal is to help removes these financial barriers that prevent children for playing organized sports, is so important. KidSport New West is proud to announce that this holiday season we will be participating in Operation Red Nose!
Operation Red Nose is a unique program dedicated against drinking and driving. Essentially, it is a volunteer driving service provided during the Holiday Season to all drivers who have been drinking or who do not feel fit to drive their own vehicle back home. It is an original and free way of getting a safe ride in their own vehicle without driving it themselves!
The Operation Red Nose service is provided by a team of three volunteers. Two of these three volunteers ride with the client in the client’s vehicle while the other volunteer follows them behind in their own car.
The service is free and completely confidential. However, donations are gladly accepted and go to KidSport so that we can continue to help kids stay off the sidelines!
If you are interested in being an Operation Red Nose volunteer or would like more info on the service you can check their website operationrednose.com or send us an email to info(at)kidsportnewwest(dot)ca.
Or if you need a safe ride home this Holiday Season and are in the Burnaby/New West area please call 778-866-6673(NOSE).
Nights (9:00 pm – 3:00 am) of operation for the 2012 campaign include:
November 30, December 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, & New Years Eve.
